Old Station is one of those towns where you wouldn’t know you were in it until you were already through it. It boasts a whopping 51 year ‘round residents but is quite a busy little town during the summer with it being only 14 miles from the north entrance of Lassen National Volcanic Park and situated on one of the best fishing streams in Northern California.
Two Sons' Lodging is located right next to the historic Uncle Runts Bar and Restaurant which is also owned by Tim, Paul and Tracey Dahlen. These three grew up in Susanville, a beautiful little town where the desert meets the forest.
Brothers, Paul and Tim have always been good friends growing up and in high school. When Paul and Tracey started dating they all became close and have stayed close for nearly 30 years.
Their father owns the only gas station in town, Old Station Fill Up. There, you can find all sorts of trinkets, essentials and goodies. It’s also the last stop for gas for over 30 miles so make sure you 'stop in to fill up your tank and your tummy' when you’re passing through town.
Paul and Tracey recently became emptynesters. They now call Old Station their year-round home and couldn’t be happier up in the mountains. Paul has been a CHP officer for the past 22 years. Tracey is a retired doula and spends her time working on the business and exploring the beautiful area she lives in with her springer spaniel, Beau.
Tim, a deputy sheriff for the past 18 years, lives in Reno but comes up to Old Station when he can until that wonderful day when he retires.
As a team these three have created a perfect place for an amazing vacation. Considered the “best kept secret in Shasta County” by many, these cabins offer all the comforts and amenities of home, a fully equip kitchen (waffle maker and all) cable, internet, and a/c for those hot summers. A resort of sorts, this place sits on the infamous Hat Creek and has some of the best fishing holes.
Paul,Tracey and Tim have exciting plans to remodel and reopen Uncle Runts very soon. It’s been a long time since this area has had Uncle Runts open for great food and entertainment and we are all thirsty for it!
